Youth inclusion
We believe that the young people who are most affected by the system must be at the heart of efforts to change it. We proudly engage the voices and perspectives of young people experiencing marginalisation in our work, actively ensuring that those engaged with us can meaningfully influence what we do and advocate within the employment system, while also developing their skills and personal outcomes.
Inclusive culture
At Youth Futures Foundation we believe that our greatest strength lies in the diversity of our people. Each of us brings unique experiences, perspectives, and skills that enrich our workplace, drive innovation, and connect us more deeply with the young people we aim to support. It is through embracing these differences that we foster a culture of belonging where everyone can thrive.
We are committed to creating a work environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and supported to grow.
Our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee leads our EDI strategy and initiative. It is formed of employees from across the organisation and is headed by a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Flexible working is a recognised and valued part of the way we do things. Options include part-time, job-shares, and compressed hours.
We are:
- A Mindful Employer – We are committed to promoting positive mental health and offering a supportive environment that is attentive to the needs and well-being of our employees.
- Disability Confident – We are dedicated to supporting employees with disabilities and ensuring our workplace is accessible and accommodates all employees regardless of their physical or mental abilities.
- A Living Wage Employer – We are committed to ensuring that we offer fair pay and that our minimum rates of pay meet the London Living Wage. We are also committed to continually reviewing employee salaries through internal/external benchmarking and have a pay progression service anniversary scale, which contributes to the financial stability and wellbeing of our employees.
National presence
We are a truly hybrid organisation, with office hubs in London Victoria, central Birmingham and Leeds city centre. Having three locations enables us to attract talent from different regions, increasing the diversity and skill set of our team, and be better connected with the organisations we work with. Bringing together people from various backgrounds, fosters a more inclusive and innovative work environment.
To support collaboration across our teams and locations, we have various regular virtual meetings, and hold a range of in-person events, such as all team and directorate away days. We also encourage hub attendance by providing other purposeful in-person engagement for training, team building and socials.
Employees can work three days per week from home, and there is no upper limit to the number of days you can work in your hub office.
High-quality evidence
As the What Works centre for Youth Employment, we focus on identifying ‘what works’ to shape policy and practices that enable young people to secure and thrive in good work.
We do this by working collaboratively to analyse, create, translate and embed high-quality evidence. We build understanding using the best-available insights and generating practical recommendations.
As part of the What Works Network, we are trusted evidence partners.
